We are so fortunate in the Noosa community as we have so many wonderful organisations that are able to come and visit our centre and show the children what they do.

Thank you to the Noosa Fire Station for making so many little boys and girls dreams come true. We watched and listened to the lights and siren, had a turn at squirting water from the big hose and some of us were lucky enough to wear the protective hat. What a great morning, thank you.

Connecting learning and community has never been more exciting than when our children hopped on the Tewantin Noosa RSL bus and visited Woolworth's Noosa Civic for a wonderful interactive Fresh Food Discovery Tour.
We were introduced to our Woolworth's adventure guides, Jamie and Mr Avocado Man who helped us put on our hats before showing us how the supermarket worked. We learned about the role different food plays in keeping our bodies healthy strong, how sharp fish teeth are and how dough can sometimes be turned into crocodile bread.
We finished our adventure with a cup full of beautiful fruit and a bag of goodies to take home.
What an incredible experience for our Kindy and Pre Kindy children and staff. We had so much fun seeing how our food makes its way into our homes and into our plates.

The children have been so excited about our "Mothers Morning Tea' for the past few weeks. It was absolutely wonderful seeing our mums, grandmothers and dad arrive
and share their time with us and the children. The morning was filled with love, fun, chatter and cake.
We hope that you had a lovely morning.

Speech Sound Pics Approach - SSP

Our incredible kindy children are leading the way in getting an AMAZING head start for prep next year. It is wonderful watching how far they have all progressed in such a short time.Thank you Miss Ann Henderson and Miss Robyn for being such fantastic teachers. ... See more

The children are using their Visual Prompts charts (can be photocopied from the handbook, downloaded as ‘Absolutely Essential...’ digital download, and anyone coming to training is sent it as we use when training!)

All words are created using the initial 6 speech sounds.

Ann is offering an ‘Early Intervention for Dyslexia’ A local kindy sends students, and their team learn the approach by DOING the activities with the children. They then continue at kindy! Great hands-on training. Leaders of this kindy are coming to training in Brisbane this Saturday ?

Calling All Unwanted and Unloved Nappies.

From 10 to 24 May, The Nappy Collective will run its national campaign to collect leftover, unused, disposable nappies and divert them to families in crisis. On average, a baby needs five nappy changes a day, and every parent knows that feeling of going to change their baby, only to discover they’ve had a growth spurt overnight. Rather than winding up in landfill, these outgrown nappies can instead be handed on to The Nappy Collective, who ensure they reach the babies that need them most.

We are very pleased to be participating as an official drop point in Noosaville (87 Eumundi Road) and we hope the local community will help support The Nappy Collective.

The collection box is in front of the office for all those unwanted nappies.

The time has come for our new weekly adventure- Walkabout Tuesday. Our walkabout takes us into our local community where we incorporate early numeracy, literacy and an Indigenous way of learning.

As we know the best way to learn is in a fun and playful way. Armed with our pens and papers the children search for numbers, shapes, colours and monkeys. Yes monkeys, and surprisingly enough in Noosa Waters we found 4.

At the park we took an traditional look at how the Indigenous peoples would have learnt to count by using sticks and leaves. Of course, to finish our adventure we had to play in the park.

#thelearningcentrenoosa

Going hand in hand with the early phonetics learning from #TheLearningCentreNoosa is the mindfulness activities that our kindergarten children are also embedding into their daily lives.

Mrs Robyn Hill has being helping our children take a moment in their busy days to reconnect and be present in the moment, to be aware and to pay attention to what is currently happening. Mindfulness can boost emotional and physical well being and help with stress and anxiety. One moment the children are being balls of glitter, then being inside a bubble to finding their caring hands.

Children are amazing, they are constantly moving and experiencing, exploring their worlds and always learning.
